"primordial provision"- experimental short film

"Primordial provision is first a prayer before anything else. an amalgamation of intentions, sacred undercurrents, and hypnotic symphony of sounds and moving images that meditate upon what it means to be found, welcomed, or given welfare by a primordial one that has always been, for as long as time itself. Fractured by an assemblage of obscured moving images composited upon itself, this one-shot film grapples with quantifying (or at least connecting to) the heartbeat of otherworldly through happenstances that might be overlooked or otherwise misunderstood by decoding it in a decaying visual time space."

This performance film is a manifestation of gratitude for the past, the present, and the future in all of its abundance. As the sea snail leaves its vessel behind, the cowrie shell reminds us of the sea floor with which it crawled from its inception to its death. It is a story as old as time, the journey is always towards becoming, a devoted worship of all energies hidden and unseen manifested through the body as an unfinished vessel of knowingness and transformation

My/our/the vessel is a portal channel of connection with ancestors, a vessel of knowledge, carrying ancestral wisdom from the past to the present- A SEED. As cowries are seeds, our bodies are also seeds of love, reverence, protection, abundance, of mystery unfolding, that we plant through our choice actions manifested through time. As my vessel carries the harvest fruits of change, my work becomes ancestral transformation and healing. This film is my truest devotion to OBATALA, my ancestors, my mothers, my fathers, the past, myself, and the present. It is my devotion to time, actualized as a tangible change for the future unborn. ÀṢẸ

GUARDIAN- short film

“The road shall never swallow you. The river of your destiny will always overcome evil. May you understand your fate. Suffering will never destroy you but will make you stronger, success will never confuse your scatter your spirit but will make you fly higher into the good sunlight. Your life will always surprise you”

This short piece, GUARDIAN is inspired by the above prayer of passage found in “The Famished Road” by Ben Okri. It embodies safety and protection, a guardian totem transporting our wishes, dreams, and intentions in both the physical and spiritual realms. A steward of the journey of life, exploring, deciphering, and granting knowledge of the flux between the divine and the mundane.
