A gesture of appreciation for the Black Embodiment. 

To my people, I offer a token of appreciation.

Flowers for your protection over me

for your care and nurture

for the spirits of my ancestors accompany me 

I shall offer reverence

On 10/21/2022, I was involved in a very life-threatening accident, yet somehow my partner and I walked off unscathed. 

Untouched. 

One could argue our ancestors were watching over us. 

MEMENTO MORI

By offering these flowers to myself, I can immortalize this moment and forever show my appreciation for LIFE. 

The lives of those who have come before me

-The ones who protect and watch over me 

but also for the life, they have given me. 

The abundant life I embody because of the power they grant unto me.

Through their lives, I exist.

This Flower bouquet was bought at a nearby grocery store (10/17/2022) and refrigerated for a week. Although the refrigeration was an accidental and forgetful act, It served as a grand symbol for the reflections that came after that accident. 

Today (10/29), I have fixated the flowers on the wall and secured them using brown tape and they will remain indefinitely.
